আলোক শিক্ষালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের বিদ্যালয়টিকে সবুজায়ন করার লক্ষ্যে ছাদ বাগান তৈরি করেছে, যেখানে ফলজ, ঔষধি, শাকসবজি এবং ফুলের গাছ রয়েছে। এই বাগানে কোনো রাসায়নিক সার কিংবা কিটনাশক ব্যবহার করা হয় না; সম্পূর্ণ অর্গানিক পদ্ধতিতে চাষ করা হচ্ছে। পানির অপচয় রোধের জন্য বৃষ্টির পানি ধরে রেখে সেচের ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে। আর্লি ইয়ার্স ও ইকো স্কুলস-এর আওতাধীন প্রোগ্রামে শিক্ষার্থীরা গাছের ভূমিকা সম্পর্কে সচেতন হয়ে পরিবেশ রক্ষার দিকে মনোযোগ দিচ্ছে। উল্লেখ্য, এই প্রতিষ্ঠানটি মূলত সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিশুদের নিয়ে পরিচালিত একটি শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান।Students at Aalok Shikkhaloy have created a rooftop garden to green the school, featuring fruit, medicinal plants, vegetables, and flowers. The garden is cultivated using entirely organic methods, without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. To prevent water waste, rainwater is collected for irrigation. Under the Early Years and Eco Schools programmes, students are becoming aware of the role of trees in environmental protection. “গ্লোবাল অ্যাডপটেশন অ্যাকশন ডে” উপলক্ষে সম্প্রতি সেন্টার ফর এনভায়রনমেন্ট এডুকেশন (সিইই) সফলভাবে যুব জলবায়ু অভিযোজন লাইটহাউজ ইভেন্টের আয়োজন করে। প্রভা অরোরা এবং ইকো স্কুলস সেই আয়োজনে নেটওয়ার্ক পার্টনার হিসেবে ভূমিকা পালন করে। আয়োজনের শেষ অংশে বিশেষ সাংস্কৃতিক এক্সচেঞ্জ পর্বে বাংলাদেশ থেকে ইকো স্কুলস অধিভুক্ত শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান শের-ই-বাংলা নগর সরকারি বালিকা উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের অষ্টম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী তাসনিয়া ইমরোজ স্নেহা এবং তাসমিয়া নূসরাত ফারিন বিশেষ সঙ্গীত পরিবেশন করেন। সঙ্গীতটি “গ্লোবাল অ্যাডপটেশন অ্যাকশন ডে” উপলক্ষে লেখা হয়েছিল, যা তারা নিজেদের সুরে সবাইকে গেয়ে শোনান।The Center for Environment Education (CEE) recently organized the Youth Climate Adaptation Lighthouse event successfully on the occasion of “Global Adaptation Action Day”. Probha Aurora and Eco-Schools performed as network partners in this initiative. The event concluded with a special cultural exchange part, where eighth-grade students Tasnia Imroj Sneha and Tasmia Nusrat Farin from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Government Girls High School, an Eco-Schools affiliated institution in Bangladesh, sung a special song.
