About Us

A brief description of Probha Aurora

Probha Aurora is a climate-sensitive youth-focused social enterprise in Bangladesh, which envisions a world of transformed teenagers and young adults who are conscious about moral values and demonstrate ethical behaviors in their daily lives including the response towards environment and climate change

Our vision is:

A world with climate-conscious teenagers and young adults who embody strong moral values and ethical ways of working.

We think globally and act locally and our mission is focused on:

The culture of the organisation and our values

We have diverse activities, the most notable ones are ⤵

Create Awareness on climate change, while building ethical and moral values in young people

We focus on four cores activities which are:

  • Awareness online events on Climate Change
  • Face to face activities
  • Advanced awareness courses
  • Engaging the youth of today to protect the planet of tomorrow

Engaging the youth of today to protect the planet of tomorrow

We want to run various school-based programs on environment and climate awareness, following international standards. These programs will encourage teenagers and young adults to undertake action-based learning. The issues we want to focus on over the next few years are: Climate Change, Loss of Biodiversity and Pollution.

We believe in the value of practical experience. We also believe that one can set an example to be followed by others by doing good work. Many examples were set by the older generation, which can encourage the present generation to achieve great things. Therefore, we want to bridge the gap between generations by presenting relevant examples of how people can impact on and demonstrate a commitment towards Climate Change, Ethical Issues and Moral Values. We also want to guide the next generation in the right direction and to become good global citizens.

Below we have separated materials into the different age groups we are working with. We believe that this will help to improve the lives of teenagers and young adults who engage with us.

  • For Teenagers
  • For Young Adults

We want to build sustainable business practices for hotels, hostels, small accommodations, campsites, holiday parks, conference centres, restaurants and attractions etc. We want to make the young adults in Bangladesh who are playing a role in these sectors aware and skilled in how to work sustainably, by training them to international standards. This will enable them to contribute to the future protection of the environment and to practice sustainable business practices. The issues we want to focus on over the next few years are: Climate Change, Loss of Biodiversity and Pollution.

We encourage teenagers and young adults to work on different topics through our activities:

  • One of these is to become self-aware and to make others aware of the need to follow the hygiene rules about Covid-19.
  • Becoming aware of how to play a role in tackling climate change from one’s own position and conducting a variety of activities.

In addition to the various activities that we think will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we want to encourage young people to undertake activities according to their abilities and time.

Through our various activities, we narrate the stories of those who are playing a leading role in the core areas of our work, in detail in this section.

  • Teenagers and Youth fighting for COVID-19
  • Teenagers and Youth addressing Climate Change
  • Teenagers and Youth striving for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

We regularly create one-minute videos aimed at developing knowledge and encouraging adolescents and young adults to work for the protection of the environment.

Please spend one Minute of your time to learn a little more about the protection of the environment and how we can guard against the negative effects of climate change.
