This initiative, already in the piloting phase, aims to cultivate Black Soldier Flies (BSF) in Satkhira district, Bangladesh, by using BSF’s organic waste as their own feed to further yield and produce BSF larvae for using as manure and poultry feeds – creating a circular waste metabolism approach – adding a new dimension to waste management and circular economy.
The program, in the future, plans to test robotic solutions for future production and expand the farm by creating job opportunities in different farming sectors for the people in climate-vulnerable areas. Overall, the initiative aims to add value to the poultry industry and meet nutritional needs in Bangladesh and beyond in large scale.
