FEE is the world’s largest environmental education organization based in Denmark and recognized by UNESCO and UNEP. FEE operates globally five important programmes, including the Green Key, Ecoschools and YRE. As a National Operator, Probha Aurora has been entrusted with implementing these programmes with the technical guidance of FEE. It is noteworthy that both Green Key and YRE are being implemented by Probha Aurora.
Green Key is a leading international eco-label awarded to those offering lodging and hospitality facilities and committed to sustainable business practices. It is given to establishments that comply with eco-friendly criteria set by FEE that is independently verified through regular on-site audits. Our Green Key programme is currently being implemented in the Tourism industry by the youth to promote sustainable tourism practices. After having a visible substantial change in this sector, we expect that youths will implement such practices in other sectors such as Business, Academia, Research, Environmental Management (waste management, water management, energy conservation), Food Industry (Responsible Procurement), Chemical Industry (Effective Microorganism Cleaning Products), Organic/Eco-friendly Products etc.
The Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) programme aims to empower young people to take a stand on environmental issues they feel strongly about and to give them platforms to express these issues through writing, photography or video initiatives. YRE offers such enthusiastic youngsters a chance to have their voices heard through high-quality journalistic work. The ultimate goal of YRE is to identify environmental injustices, offer solutions to them and involve relevant establishments to address environmental issues. We hope, our Young Reporters will be able to make a difference in their communities while also developing their leadership, critical thinking and communication skills. YRE is currently active in more than 42 countries worldwide and is still growing!
Eco-Schools is a global programme, recognized by the UNDESA – UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005 – 2014) that empowers students to take an active role in promoting sustainability in their schools and communities.
The program provides a framework for schools to integrate environmental education into their curriculum and operations, with the goal of creating a more sustainable future.
FEE EcoCampus is an award programme that provides a framework to guide higher education institutions on their sustainable journey and model sustainability as an integral part of campus life while involving staff, teachers and the student body by empowering them to become forward thinkers and lead the way towards sustainable development.
Through an inclusive and action-based approach universities and students get involved, show commitment and engage for positive change. With our comprehensive Seven-Step Methodology we aim to facilitate integration of sustainability measures within complex multi-level institutions. This fosters sustainability awareness in institutions in a way that links to everyday activities and curriculum, and ties in with the operational requirements of a complex multi-use facility.
Besides the operational integration, FEE EcoCampus is first and foremost an education programme which empowers students to lead for sustainability and endeavours to extend learning beyond the lecture theatre to develop responsible attitudes towards the environment, culture and society and create value for the wider community.
